Work has begun on a new tenon saw. The handle wood this time is Burdekin Plum. The saw plate is 0.025 gauge; 18 inches L x 3.5 inches D below the brass back.

nice to show the midstage of the working. I'm impressed how clean your work is at this stage.
When I start a saw handle, i allways start to make the problematic task: Saw holes, Slots for spine and
blade. Until they fit, I don't work the contour at all.

I like the double notch at the ogee curve. Never saw that before!

nett, dass Du uns die Säge mitten in der Bearbeitung zeigst. Ich bin beeindruckt, wie sauber der Griff in diesem Stadium ist.
Wenn ich einen Sägegriff anfange, mache ich immer erst die sachen, die schief gehen können. die Löcher für die Schrauben
und die Schlitze für Rücken und Blatt. Bis das nicht passt, bleibt die Kontur sägerau.

Ich mag die Doppelkerbe an der Verbindung vonm Handstück zur Wange, das habe ich noch nicht gesehen.

Hallo,

ich meine auf dem Blatt eine leichte zick-zack Struktur erkennen zu können.
Wäre vielleicht jemand in der Lage meine Neugier zu stillen und berichten, ob es von der Herstellung oder vielleicht Lagerung herrührt?
Ist das ein zufälliges Muster, welches sich "nebenbei" ergibt, oder ist das etwa so beabsichtigt?

Full shaping of the handle is now completed. A quality amber shellac finish can now be applied.
