Its always a good time to raise the profile of saw making.

Here is the latest backsaw I am working on. At this stage the handle shape is finished and I have applied a seal coat of amber shellac .

The handle wood is Tas. Tiger Myrtle. The saw plate is 0.025 gauge; 16 inches in length; and 3 1/2 inches in depth below the hardback.

The shaping of the brass hardback is complete. The brass surface still requires a light sanding before it can be buffed to a shine.

another very nice saw, you're making. What about the screws? Are they engraved?

(eine weitere schöne Säge baust Du da gerade, hast Du die Schrauben graviert?)

Ich fass das andere auch mal zusammen. Stewie stellt eine neue Zapfensäge vor,

16 Inch also ca 40 cm lang,
Schnittiefe ca. 85mm,
Blattstärke 0,6mm.
Holz Tiger Myrte (keine Ahnung, ob es eine deutsche Bezeichnung gibt.) Oberfläche Schellac (Amber also Bernsteinfarben)

Klaus und Horst loben die Säge, Horst fragt zusätzlich an, ob die käuflich ist.

Hat von dieser Zusammenfassung / Übersetzung wirklich jemand profitiert? Ich frag nur, weil ich mir überlege, ob es die kleine Mühe lohnt.

Hello Pedder. I have numbered each of the saw bolts with a graphite pencil, and are only temporary. These marks identify the saw bolts location on the handle each time they are removed during the backsaws construction. .

Saw teeth have been filed and set. 11 tpi ; 10* rake ; rip profile.

Completed some test cuts with the saw. Super.
