Burdekin Plum - large tenon saw.

Hi Tom. You would be aware from reading my posts that I have been very generous with my saw making knowledge.

Hallo zusammen,

DANKE!

:-)

Herzliche Grüße

Tom

Hello Tom. I understand your level of English very well. I have no interest in speeding up my saw making work. I prefer to use traditional hand tool skills where I am able too. It is much slower to do it this way, but I focused only on quality, not quantity. I understand there is a strong interest in knowing all that I do with my saw making work. But you will find other saw makers are not very open with the methods they use. They are aware that saw making is a very competitive market. To tell all gives a great advantage to your competitors. . Pedder mentioned Mike Wenzloff.. I doubt Mike will explain how he makes his hand saws. But my guess, he is using a great deal of high tech machinery to increase his production output, but also decrease his labour costs.

Pedder would be aware that 1 of my saw handle designs was used by another saw maker who sells his work. That saw maker did not ask my permission. It saddens me that someone would take my work and use it for their own profit. I am powerless to stop that type of behaviour from happening.

Stewie,

i've got your point and I am with you.

Those behavior makes me very sadly - the same things happens in Asia with e.g. german products. But - where is the difference, when you sell one of your wonderful saws and your clients did this only because he would get a prototype. To one, who do the same when you introduce your work in this forum? Both would be in my opinion a "non acceptable action" (= criminal?). The only way to prevent those is to get the patent - but this would be an other topic.

At the end could a debate in a forum like this one for both parties a benefit. It will always be an walk on the line, what you tell us.

Cheers

Tom

PS: do you have a internet adress?
